Lawyers and NGOs sued Israel to investigate the genocide at the International Criminal court
French lawyer ‘Gilles Devers’ is leading the lawsuit, which also calls for an investigation into the Gaza massacre.
298 lawyers and 117 NGOs have submitted a lawsuit to the International Criminal Court in The Hague to investigate Israel for genocide. It has alleged crimes that the Israeli army may have committed in its offensive against Gaza, including the massacre of civilians, the siege of the Gaza Strip, and the forcible transfer of civilians from north to south.
The lawyers are led by French lawyer Gilles Devers.
The signatories also called for “an investigation into the October 7 attack by Hamas.
A total of 52-page text is presented.
We base ourselves on the criteria for the crime of genocide established by the jurisprudence of the International Court of Justice. We know this is a long-term effort. The first step is to later present a complaint to the court with the orders received by the relatives of the victims of the bombing in Gaza. In this way they carry out an important legal process that can advance the case against Israel.
The International Court of Justice has said that it already has a team to investigate these crimes.

The Attorney General and Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague ‘Karim Khan’, recently asserted that he is capable of investigating, and asking for information to be submitted, but alleged a lack of resources to justify the difference between the speed with which action has been taken in the case of war.
Genocide lawsuit against Israel
Demands for an investigation presented by lawyers against Israel focus on the following issues: genocide by death, genocide by serious attack against physical or mental integrity, genocide by intentional infliction of conditions of existence. Total or partial destruction of Gaza, deportation or forcible transfer of population, persecution, deliberate killing, attack against civilians and attack against UN personnel or property.
Israeli leader statement
Prosecutors in the lawsuit cited several statements by Israeli leaders as examples. For example, Energy Minister Israel Katz made a statement that
No humanitarian aid or electrical switches will be turned on in Gaza, no water, no fuel will enter Gaza until the people kidnapped by Hamas return.
According to official Israeli information, the Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas party, kidnapped at least 240 people in attacks on agricultural cooperatives and a music festival. The defense minister, Yoav Galant, has said that “there will be no supply electricity, water or fuel in Gaza” because “we are fighting against human animals.
Lawyers believe everything is Pre planning
Lawyers believe that there was already planning in this case: cutting off water and electricity, rationing food supplies, bombing civilian homes or mass displacement of the population, threatening the death and destruction of those who remain. With all this, lawyers assert that there is a process of dehumanization in Gaza. There is nothing complicated in the investigation, as most of the facts are openly acknowledged by the leaders and officers of the Israeli Army.
Carnage in Gaza
Israel has launched sustained attacks both in the north, where it says Hamas has a base, and in the south, where it has told the population to relocate. The World Health Organization has documented 109 attacks on healthcare in the Gaza Strip, from ambulances to hospitals.
The statements made by lawyer Devers included the blocking of access to medicine, food, water, forced displacement of the population and inhumane bombing of the civilian population. All these physical elements are inhuman behavior.

Signatories include non-governmental organizations from Canada, France, Belgium and Palestine, as well as international organizations such as the Jewish Union for Peace. Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebbon have both supported calls for an investigation into the genocide.
