Owaisi has sharpened his attack against the BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the Gujarat assembly election.
All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday used a joke to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the high unemployment rate in the country. Addressing a gathering in Gujarat’s Danilimda assembly constituency, Owaisi said that he met a young individual in a hotel where the man explained his current situation through a joke.
“Main jis ladki se shaadi karna chahta hun, usne mujhse aa kar kaha ki ‘aapki sarkari naukri kab lagegi, papa ladka dhund rahe hain’ (The girl I want to marry came to me and asked, “when will you get a government job, father is looking for (another) boy (to get me married)), ” Owaisi quoted the man as saying while clarifying that it was a joke and not a true incident.
“The boy replied, ‘Modi sarkar par bharosa mat karo, tum shaadi kar lo’(Don’t trust Modi government, you (please) get married (with someone else)),” he added, amid laughter and cheer from the crowd.
The AIMIM chief said that PM Modi had promised two crore jobs every year but has backtracked from it.
