Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will go to Uttarakhand on October 24 to take part in Shaheed Samman Yatra. The union minister will launch the yatra from the Kumaon area.
Uttarakhand Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi met Singh and Chief of Defence Workers Bipin Rawat on Friday. Requested if yatra has been timed forward of meeting polls for electoral good points, Joshi stated it was deliberate upfront and relies on a suggestion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“BJP doesn’t do something for political good points. We respect martyrs. Prime Minister Modi when he got here to Uttarakhand spoke in regards to the fifth Dham within the state as each fifth member within the military manning the border is from our state. We are going to take out Shaheed Samman Yatra from Garhwal on October 21 and from Kumaon on October 24,” Joshi advised.
“As many as 1,734 households have been contacted. We are going to go to them and take soil from their house for use within the Dham. Rajnath Singh will launch the October 24 yatra within the Kumaon area,” he added.
