Three Kashmiri college students have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra on Wednesday for celebrating Pakistan’s win in opposition to India within the T20 World Cup match on October 24. All three are engineering college students.

Agra Circle Officer (Lohamandi) Saurabh Singh mentioned the three college students have been recognized as Arshad Yusuf, Inayat Altaf Sheikh and Shaukat Ahmed Ganai. They have been arrested late on Wednesday night. “They are going to be introduced earlier than a Justice of the Peace at present,” mentioned the officer.

The three college students have been booked after a BJP youth wing chief Gaurav Rajawat lodged a criticism in opposition to them for allegedly “shouting pro-Pakistan slogans and sharing posts associated to it on social media” after India’s loss.

Vikas Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Agra Metropolis, mentioned that an FIR is being registered at Jagdishpura police station on the premise of the criticism. He mentioned that the police additionally obtained data that some folks had ‘shared anti-national messages’ on WhatsApp after the match. The scholars have been suspended from the hostel in addition to the institute.

Earlier within the morning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned that these celebrating Pakistan’s win will likely be charged with sedition.
