Hamas is an idea that can never be eradicated: Ayman al-Safadi

Jordan foreign minister Ayman al safadi

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi said on today evening that the Islamic resistance movement “Hamas” is an idea that can never be ended. Anyone who wants peace must try to fulfill the rights of the Palestinian people.

Al-Safadi made the statements during a meeting with a large number of journalists and writers at a program organized by the Amman Municipality.

“Hamas is an idea, and an idea never ends,” al-Safadi said in reference to efforts by Israel and its allies to end Hamas. Anyone who wants peace must try to meet the needs and rights of the Palestinian people. If the international community does not strive for the rights of Palestine and its people, there will be a war every 5 or 6 years that will never end. He said Jordan is committed to stopping the war and crimes committed against Palestinians.

Refusal to be displaced

Al-Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s position that any displacement of the Palestinian people from their land to a state is tantamount to a declaration of war on Jordan, “which we will face with all force.” He explained that the displacement option proposed by Israel at the beginning of the Gaza war “failed and was not accepted by Egypt, Jordan and the people of the world.

Last Monday, Jordan’s King Abdullah 2 warned of an “explosion” of the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem and called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the protection of civilians there.

Last month, King Abdullah 2 insisted that an end to the war on the Gaza Strip was an absolute necessity, and warned during his reception with French President Emmanuel Macron in Amman that continuing the war on the Gaza Strip could lead to an explosive situation in the region.
